Dear Friend,
I see those dark circles under your eyes. I notice how your shoulders slump with the weight of everything you’re carrying. I understand the hollow ache in your chest when you look around and feel like no one truly sees you. Today, this letter is for you.
The Loneliest Race
You’ve been running, haven’t you? Running from dawn till dusk, trying to be everything for everyone. Running through the motions of life with a smile plastered on your face, while inside, your heart is screaming for rest. Running so fast and so far that you’ve lost sight of where you started and where you’re headed.
And the hardest part? You feel like you’re running this marathon alone.
When the Crowd Feels Empty
It’s a strange paradox, isn’t it? To be surrounded by people – family, friends, coworkers, church members – yet feel completely isolated. To scroll through social media, seeing countless faces and stories, yet feel disconnected from every single one. To sit in a room full of chatter and laughter, yet feel like you’re watching life happen from behind a glass wall.
I want you to know something: This feeling? It’s real. It’s valid. But it’s not the whole truth.
The Truth About Your “Solo” Journey
“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
Let these words sink deep into your weary soul. When your feet are blistered from running, when your heart is heavy with loneliness, when you feel like you can’t take another step – you are not alone. You never were.
The God of the universe is running right beside you. He’s been there all along, matching your pace, catching your tears, listening to your unspoken prayers.
When Exhaustion Meets Grace
Here’s what I want you to do right now:
– Stop running
– Take a deep breath
– Close your eyes
– Feel His presence
You don’t have to keep pushing yourself to exhaustion. You don’t have to pretend you have it all together. You don’t have to run this race alone.
Finding Rest in His Presence
Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is stop running. Stop trying to prove our worth. Stop attempting to earn love and acceptance. Stop fighting battles that were never ours to fight.
Instead:
– Rest in His unconditional love
– Lean into His strength
– Allow His peace to wash over your tired soul
– Let His presence fill your empty spaces
Your Divine Running Partner
Remember this: The God who created the universe knows your name. He sees every tear, hears every sigh, understands every unspoken worry. He’s not just watching from the sidelines. He’s right there with you, ready to carry you when your strength fails.
You don’t have to be strong all the time. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to fake it till you make it. All you need to do is acknowledge His presence and let Him guide your steps.
A New Way Forward
Today, I invite you to stop running alone. Instead:
– Surrender your exhaustion to Him
– Share your burdens with the One who promised to carry them
– Find community in His presence
– Let His strength become your strength
You may feel alone, but you are deeply, completely, and unconditionally loved. You are seen, known, and cherished by the King of Kings.
To the woman who’s tired of running alone: It’s time to rest. It’s time to let go. It’s time to remember that you have the greatest companion by your side.
You’re not alone anymore. You never were.
With love and understanding,
A sister who’s been there
